Comprehensive Eye Exams
On average, we recommend scheduling an appointment once every year to two years to ensure your eyes are remaining healthy. If you have been diagnosed with an eye condition, however, we recommend scheduling an appointment once or twice a year depending on the severity.
During your appointment, we will review your patient history, visual acuity, perform preliminary tests, and evaluate your eyes’ overall health.

Contact Lenses
Nowadays, most people prefer to wear contacts instead of glasses. If you are interested in contact lenses, please let your eye doctor know prior to your appointment. During your exam, we will discuss the various contact lenses available and determine the best option based on your individual needs and lifestyle.

Diabetic Eye Care
Diabetes affects more than just your blood sugar—it can also have a serious impact on your vision.
Over time, high blood sugar levels can damage the tiny blood vessels in the eyes, leading to conditions that may cause vision problems or even permanent vision loss if not detected early. Many diabetic eye conditions develop silently, without pain or early warning signs.
Routine diabetic eye exams allow us to:
- Detect problems early—before vision is affected
- Monitor changes over time
- Recommend treatment when needed
- Help prevent permanent vision loss
Even if your vision seems fine, annual eye exams are critical. Most patients with diabetes should have a comprehensive eye exam at least once per year, or more frequently depending on their condition.

Dry Eye Treatment
Advanced Eye Care is proud to offer dry eye treatment for our patients. Ocular Surface Disease, also known as dry eye, can occur from certain medications, naturally by aging, or as a symptom arising from systemic diseases such as Sjogren’s syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, or Lupus. If you have a minor case of dry eye, you may be experiencing irritation, excessive tearing, fluctuating vision, and/or a burning sensation in your eyes. Excessive dry eyes, or dry eye symptoms that go untreated, have the potential to damage eye tissue, scar your corneas, and impair your vision.

Keratoconus
Keratoconus is a non-inflammatory disorder that affects the cornea. The cornea becomes thinned and steepened, resulting in distorted vision, sensitivity to light, and decreased vision. Symptoms typically manifest in a person’s younger years, usually the late teens or 20’s.
Keratoconus can affect a person’s ability to read or drive, which can be a major obstacle for people. Luckily, this is a condition that can be diagnosed through a routine eye exam, which underscores the importance of scheduling regular eye exams for you and your children.

Foreign Object Removal
Fast, Safe Relief When You Need It Most
If you have something in your eye—such as metal, wood, dust, or another foreign object—it’s important to have it removed as soon as possible to prevent further irritation or damage. Our team is equipped to safely remove foreign material to provide immediate relief and manage any resulting irritation.
Glaucoma Eye Care and Testing
Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that can damage the optic nerve, often due to increased pressure inside the eye. It is one of the leading causes of vision loss—but when detected early, it can be effectively managed.
Glaucoma typically develops slowly and often has no early warning signs. Many patients don’t notice vision changes until the disease has progressed.
Without proper treatment, glaucoma can lead to permanent vision loss, starting with peripheral (side) vision and potentially advancing to blindness. Because glaucoma can progress without symptoms, regular eye exams are essential.
- Monitor changes in eye pressure
- Evaluate the health of the optic nerve
- Begin treatment before vision is affected
- Help preserve long-term vision
At Advanced Eye Care, our doctors are specialized in glaucoma care and use modern technology and advanced testing to check for, monitor and treat glaucoma.
You may have a higher risk of glaucoma if you:
- Are over age 60
- Have a family history of glaucoma
- Have diabetes or high blood pressure
- Are African American or Hispanic
- Have high eye pressure
Glaucoma often develops without symptoms—don’t wait until vision changes occur. Schedule your comprehensive eye exam today to protect your long-term vision.
